Radio 1 has just announced that Years and Years and Catfish and the Bottlemen will join Taylor Swift and Florence and the Machine at this year’s Big Weekend in Norwich.
The four bands are the first of around thirty acts that will play Earlham Park in Norwich on 23/24 May 2015. More artists will be announced next month.
Olly from Years and Years said: “I’m hoping to persuade Taylor Swift to go shopping with me in Norwich during the weekend.”
Ticket information was also revealed on the Breakfast Show this morning with listeners having the opportunity to register for tickets from 8am on Tuesday 31 March. These will be made available on a first come, first served basis with more weightage for the Norwich area, as well as the wider Norfolk and East Anglia areas. A booking charge of £3.50 per ticket will be added on to each order, and listeners can register for a pair of tickets each. 50,000 are up for grabs.
With Radio 1 expecting thousands of people trying to gain access to the booking page Radio 1 and See Tickets will be running a queuing system to ease website capacity. Further information can be found here.
