Who is Mary?

Mary is Laura's sister from back home in York. She's an A-Level student and currently goes to college. She currently studies Biology, Psychology and Art. She has a band and is currently spending a lot of time with them. Mary came to fame in October 2005 when she begun reading extracts from Laura's diary, and listeners became hooked. Since then Laura's Diary has continued for 4 seasons! Mary's a member of the Unofficial Mills message board.

The Transcripts

8th April 1996
She'd had to pay 25p to UNICEF for charity day at college, her skin was clear (unlike her friend's) and she got told off twice. She got fined a week’s pocket money by her dad at lunch for shovelling her food and had to eat the rest with a dessert fork. Anthony, her piano teacher, was coming over and she had to freshen up.

9th April 1996
Laura couldn't manage to do much right; she had loads of English coursework and was feeling ill. Her piano lessons were going well with Anthony, her hand movement was coming on well and he was 'well young' (not Will Young). Her friend Emma said that Simon let her 'WHF' but she didn't believe her, which apparently means 'Water Her Flowers'.

15th April 1996
Laura was expelled from a hockey team, she got an A for her leaf montage, and she'd had another lesson with Anthony. She was getting embarrassed when she looked at Anthony for too long, and found out he liked Shed 7 too. Much love for Rick Witter there. We found out her right hand is very good, she just needs a bit of work with her left hand.

16th April 1996
Today she couldn't find Rick Witter or Anthony. She's decided she really likes him (Anthony) and her mum and Emma likes him too. Emma called her work and found out he isn't seeing anyone. Next to his name is LMF apparently, but Mary or Scott couldn't say what that means on air.

18th April 1996
She changed her hair today to see if blondes really do have a lot more fun, and she had come up with a plan to show Anthony isn't just good at the piano. She was after Shed 7 tickets (they're still available!) and she was trying to raise enough money to go. Two tickets for Anthony and two tickets for her.

22nd April 1996
She believed today was the best day of her life, starting with the team losing 14-0 in hockey, and Anthony agreed to go gigging with her. She couldn't concentrate with the touching and breathing! She thinks he likes her and was so happy she could cry. There were 5 different codes - LMF, WMF, FHP, TMUTA, and IMSH.

25th April 1996
Anthony the piano teacher asked Laura if he could bring his girlfriend to the Shed 7 concert. She was heart broken.
