The Ex-Box Saga

Laura caused controversy in this series when she brought in an 'ex box' featuring stuff she got from Ben and let Chappers and Scott have a look. This led to many other listeners revealing they kept ex boxes. Scott got listeners to ring in and destroy them, either with a chain saw, a car or whatever was a round. In this clip taken from the Unofficial Mills archives, Gemma wants Alex's ex boxes to be destroyed whilst he's on holiday. 29th August 1997
She's gone back to calling it a diary (not Alice) and was talking about the hotel that she was working at. Her brother Henry went to see U2, and her brother's band mate (Monster Sunshine) Ben supposedly has a crush on her. She had met him before, but couldn't remember what he looked like.

31st August 1997
Today she was working at the hotel, and Room 3 was being a nightmare. The kid kept 'fingering all the brass' and kept pretending to be a teletubby. Ben had called her that night, and was to meet on Wednesday at 8pm with his mate Callum. She just hopes he'll be average looking at least, and is worried about her drinking habits. She had been to the football to try and find Ben, but he wasn't there and the next day she's off for new underwear tomorrow at M&S.

3rd September 1997
Today Laura had just got in from town and had been told off by her dad for playing music when she didn't have it on. She saw Jamie on the 'Iron Bridge' on the way home (the one who came in Laura's box from the early 90s) and he said she was looking gorgeous. The evening with Ben had gone well, and Ben was wearing red trousers and a checked shirt. He was a true guitar player, and Callum kept going off to play pool by himself. They kept checking out her cleavage, and then Ben started touching her leg. They then went back to his place and they went upstairs to 'mess around'. Mary refused to read out any of the other details from the diary about that evening. Laura had a massive blister on the side of her feet from her Spice Girls boots and in the diary included a beer mat with Ben's e-mail address and telephone number on.

8th September 1997
She went to a gig of Ben's where they did a cover of Foo Fighters. While at the gig Ben decided a song to Laura 'His girlfriend'. On the way home Ben gave Laura his Plectrum. Laura had written down 3 reasons why Ben and her were well suited, one of the reasons being that they both like Oasis. Also the tamagotichi Laura gave Ben died, is this a sign?

17th September 1997
Today was a weird one for Laura, she was in her new room at Glasgow University- it was quite small and she has her own sink. She had a shower, a kitchen and two toilets. She managed to hold her emotions together until her friends and family left. She wasn't liking the university. Ben had been to the house the night before, and her parents gave them some space. The duvet was already packed up, so they tried not to make a mess of Mary's bed. Ben gave Laura a tape of his favourite music to listen to at university and was even narrated.
