Georgina Bowman

Georgina Bowman was born on February the 9th and is from London, but moved to Manchester when she was 10.

She is the main Newsbeat anchor during the afternoon, and can often be heard reading the latest news headlines during the Scott Mills show, and presenting the 5.45 Newsbeat show. She works alongside Chappers who reads the sport. She joined Radio 1 Newsbeat after working for many commercial stations in the North West in 1998.

In January 2008, Georgina announced she was pregnant. She left Radio 1 at the start of February 2008, and gave birth to Louis Spencer Arnold on February 15th 2008. He weighed 7lb 13oz. Anna Lee continues to fill in for her on afternoons until she makes a return.
