3 October 2007: Dani Minogue, X Factor Judges Impressions, and the Pedro/Bjork/Vladimir Game

Dani Minogue drops by as Scott’s celebrity guest for the week, performing X Factor judge impressions and getting roped into the show’s signature international stereotype name-calling game.

This episode features Dani Minogue as the main guest, booked by the show’s silent team member. Scott spends time doing X Factor judge impressions with her, drawing on recent boot camp footage from the show. He gets Dani to attempt impressions of the judging panel, including Sharon Osbourne and Simon Cowell—though she admits her Sharon and Simon impressions aren’t her strongest work. Scott and Dani discuss the competitive nature of judging on X Factor, with Dani revealing that Louis Walsh is the most competitive of the judges. They also play through some of the more awkward audition moments, with Scott exploring the concept of “X Factor guilt”—that uncomfortable feeling of laughing at contestants who clearly aren’t right for the competition.

The show’s signature game makes an international appearance: after earlier success with the “Dave Game” (finding random Daves anywhere in the UK), Scott moves global with “Pedro or No Pedro” in Spain. The calls produce mixed results—Pedro himself has moved to Switzerland, though his friend Stefan knows him. Subsequent calls to Iceland for “Bjork or No Bjork” and Russia for “Vladimir or No Vladimir” follow a similar pattern, with Scott cold-calling random numbers to see if he can find someone with the stereotypical name. The Vladimir call unexpectedly connects with someone genuinely named Vladimir who’s putting a monitor on a shelf and heading to Egypt on holiday.

Dani also contributes a few lines to the show’s running “Ladies’ Bris” song montage, part of a two-week celebrity guest feature.
