10 April 2008: Truth or Dare with Tarantulas and Embarrassing Secrets

Scott faces a high-stakes game of truth or dare where he must choose between hearing mortifying secrets from people who know him — including his own mum — or handling Trevor’s collection of scary creatures, starting with a tarantula.

The show opens with a tense setup: three people are lined up with embarrassing secrets about Scott, including his flatmate and someone named Gary from Leatherhead, along with Trevor and a mystery trolley covered in black cloth. Scott must decide whether to let these people reveal their secrets on air or accept a dare involving Trevor’s creatures instead.

For the first round, the choice is stark: either Scott’s mum reveals an embarrassing secret to the whole UK, or he holds a tarantula in his hand for 30 seconds. Despite initial panic and worried questioning about insurance, Scott opts for the dare. With guidance from Carol in the live lounge, he manages to hold the furry tarantula without incident, though he’s visibly uncomfortable throughout. He successfully completes the 30-second challenge.

The second truth-or-dare scenario presents another dilemma: hear a blackmailing secret from his flatmate, or put his blindfolded hand into a mysterious box to find out what creature awaits. The tension builds as Scott wrestles with whether to take the truth from his flatmate or risk the unknown dare. The episode also features the annual Lost In Translation call and Wing’s singing, which reportedly moves someone to tears, plus Barnyoke reaching new creative heights — though the transcript doesn’t capture these segments clearly.
