11 January 2007: “You’ve Been Busted” and The Honesty Game

Katie rings in to confess she found 11 private photos of Emmerdale’s Myleene Klass in a bikini on her dad’s laptop—and Scott’s team call her father Doug at work to confront him live on air in a hilarious sting that ends with an unexpected thank you.

The episode opens with Katie’s story about discovering a folder marked “private” on her dad Doug’s work laptop. Following the golden rule that anything labelled private on a computer is the first thing anyone looks at, she found 11 photos of Myleene Klass in a bikini, particularly from a famous waterfall photoshoot. Katie felt sick about the discovery, and Scott arranges an on-air bust.

The prank call sequence is comedy gold: Scott’s team ring Doug posing as IT support conducting a “random electronic sweep” for indecent images. Doug repeatedly denies everything, insisting the photos aren’t pornographic—they’re just pictures of Myleene Klass that were on television. The caller describes the woman in the white bikini under a waterfall, which Doug keeps trying to explain away. When confronted about how Myleene would feel, Scott then reveals he’s actually Myleene Klass on the line, and Doug is thoroughly busted. Remarkably, Doug thanks Scott for the experience.

The show then moves to the Text Roulette game, where listeners write a message (“I can see you”) and randomly select someone from their phone book to send it to. Results include Brian Connelly, a Radio One PA, and a doctor mid-operation. Laura, a team member who’s just quit smoking, features heavily: with Dr. Mark Hamilton calling in to explain that quitting smoking causes constipation because cigarettes stimulate the gut. Laura’s been blocked for six days and is worried it might back up into her mouth; the doctor reassures her it will pass.

The episode concludes with the Honesty Game, where callers ask revealing questions. Topics include whether DJs have seen each other naked (Spoony apparently made quite an impression in the changing room), whether anyone’s used their radio status to get dates, and various one-night stand stories. Colin shares an amusing anecdote about leaving a girl’s house while his mates played “Hey Jude” by The Beatles.
