What Are Those Old People On About?
Scott introduced a new game recorded at a daytime centre for older people. Participants were shown photographs of modern celebrities and asked to describe exactly what they saw without saying the names.
Scott, Beccy and Chappers then had to identify each celebrity from those descriptions.
James Corden
The first man was described as looking like a children’s entertainer, being about 40 and wearing “flash shoes”.
Further clues said he was “a bit tubby”, had a “tubby face” and possessed a lot of hair. The team guessed Russell Brand, Westwood, Hugh Grant and Mr Blobby in a wig before the answer was revealed as James Corden.
Scott said the answer seemed obvious only after hearing it.
Tim Westwood
The second celebrity was described as a nice-looking man of about 28 who nevertheless appeared unhappy.
The older people said he had a long face, looked as though he was wearing lipstick and resembled Vicky Pollard. The answer was Tim Westwood.
Lily Allen
A young woman was described as pretty, with wide eyes and nice lips. The conversation then shifted to her relationship with an older man, with the group remembering photographs of them kissing.
They said she had long black hair, liked a good time and appeared to be “bent over” in the picture. After guesses including Catherine Zeta-Jones and Amy Winehouse, the answer was Lily Allen.
Daniel Craig
Another photograph produced immediate reactions to a man with wide eyes and hair sticking up “as if he had the fright of his life”.
He was also described as mysterious and well dressed. Scott guessed Russell Brand again before identifying Daniel Craig.
Beccy admitted that she had bought a Daniel Craig calendar and discussed which parts of the photographs she would prefer to keep.
Justin Lee Collins
A further picture showed two men. One was described as long-haired, scruffy, wearing glasses and resting his hand on the other man’s chest.
The older people said he seemed happy and funny and appeared with his “sleeping partner”. The answer was Justin Lee Collins alongside Alan Carr.
Verne Troyer
The final celebrity was described as a “little man”, bald, with rings and a very large face. The older people said he liked women and had a very tall girlfriend.
The decisive clue was that his head was “nearly as big as a shoe”. Scott and the team identified Verne Troyer.
The segment ended with Scott praising the descriptions, particularly “bald as a joke” and “my head is big as a shoe”.
