Unofficial Mills in The Guardian
Scott congratulated unofficialmills.co.uk after it appeared in The Guardian Guide’s Blog Roll column.
The newspaper described Scott as a “friendly internet stalker” whose fan site documented appearances on Hole in the Wall and “prank calls to the elderly”. Scott said the description summed up the programme surprisingly well.
The team then considered which publications they would like to appear in next. Beccy chose the Financial Times because it was printed on pink paper, Scott selected Country Life and Chappers remembered once appearing in Horse & Hound.
Oh, What’s Occurring?
The first round used a clip from Loose Women in which the panel laughed about men being messy. Scott asked how long the uninterrupted laughter and discussion lasted. Chappers guessed five and a half minutes; Beccy guessed one minute. The actual total was one minute and ten seconds, giving Beccy the point.
To test whether the subject was universally funny, the programme asked ten people whether their partner was messy. Only one person laughed, compared with the sustained reaction on television.
The final section tested how well three couples knew one another. Each partner was separately asked what cosmetic surgery the other person would choose.
Rob thought Dion would have the tip of her nose altered. Dion instead said she would change her “cankles”, meaning calves that ran directly into her ankles.
Alex thought Chris wanted the top of his nose altered because glasses repeatedly slid down it. Chris said he would have his ears pinned back.
Mike thought Gemma would enlarge her breasts. Gemma said she would change her feet, but then admitted breast enlargement would be her second choice. That was the only couple judged close enough to match.
Beccy won the game after correctly predicting that only one of the three couples would agree.
