19 March 2009: A proposed Arabic parrot, a yoga model who resembles Scott and 24 ways to say fart

Dear Scott

A listener offered the programme an Arabic-speaking parrot to replace Beccy.

Scott liked the idea but worried about quarantine rules and whether the bird would need to spend six months in an aviary.

The same letter criticised Scott’s podcast photograph, saying he looked as though he had farted and was waiting for other people to notice.

Another listener sent a yoga website containing a model who looked strikingly like Scott. The team examined photographs of difficult poses and repeatedly asked whether Scott had secretly become the site’s instructor. He denied it.

Oh, What’s Occurring?

The children’s programme Gastronuts had devoted an episode to farting.

Scott counted 24 different expressions, including “big noises from our bottoms”, “breaking wind”, “the gasman is at the door”, “toot your horn”, “blow off”, “trumps” and “letting one go”.

A public survey asked for the favourite member of Take That. Several people could not name any members, while others confused Mark Owen’s name and referred simply to “the big one”.

Mark Owen emerged as the most popular answer, ahead of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange.
