22 September 2009: Radio 1 promotes its weekend stars

The archive contains a stylised promotional trail for Radio 1’s weekend schedule.

An exaggerated voice announced that the weekend had arrived and claimed that the stars were still visible even in daylight.

Sara Cox, Casualty and Reggie Yates were introduced through fragmented jokes and dramatic descriptions.

The trail promoted requests on Saturday and a larger Sunday programme before ending with the station’s standard identification.
