Scott announced that his programme also possessed a masterpiece worthy of uninterrupted broadcast. Phones would be turned off, MSN closed and the studio doors guarded so nobody could spoil the experience.
The team treated the chosen recording with the reverence normally reserved for an acclaimed album, preserving every gap and discouraging ordinary radio links until it had finished.
Christmas begins
Because it was 1 December, the programme declared Christmas officially under way and began playing festive records. A listener also revealed that his girlfriend had sung in the choir on The Darkness’s Christmas video and might still receive money from it.
