Huw Stephens takes over and Patrick’s fan club grows
Huw Stephens sat in for Scott and confessed that playing Oh! What’s Occurring? felt slightly improper because it was so closely associated with Scott. Beccy was on hand, as was Patrick, still unbeaten and increasingly comfortable with his status as the show’s regular contestant.
Patrick’s independent Facebook group had passed 250 members, leading Huw and Beccy to ask what benefits followers could expect. Patrick considered merchandise and ringtones before recording a personalised answerphone greeting: “It’s Patrick off Oh! What’s Occurring? Please leave a message after the tone.” Beccy’s spoken preview over the recording somewhat undermined its commercial potential.
The game included Raymond Blanc’s repeated use of “voilà” on Kitchen Secrets, a Stupid Street question about the best way to end a relationship, and a count of how often Huw had accidentally called J Sean “Sean Paul” the previous day. Patrick’s guesses kept him in front, and he used the closing moments to promise another link to his Facebook group.
