Lloyd returns for the World Cup
Scott brought back Lloyd, the listener who had taught him about football during the previous World Cup when he was 10. Now 14, Lloyd resumed his role as Scott’s personal football guru, patiently explaining the fixtures, likely winners and why Beccy’s sweepstake team Switzerland did not have much hope.
Scott replayed Lloyd’s younger voice and insisted he needed a new theme tune now he was no longer ‘Little Lloyd’. Lloyd’s school deputy head also wrote in, having only recently realised that the boy in Year 9 was the same World Cup expert he had heard on Radio 1.
The Posh Radio 4 Lady read Dear Scott messages about Beccy’s sticker obsession and the previous week’s Ed Westwick interview. Sabine also returned to Oh! What’s Occurring?, as the show settled into its football-heavy June rhythm.
