Scott returns from Uganda
Scott was back after two weeks in Uganda, correcting anyone who described the trip as a holiday. He eased himself into the programme through an X Factor conversation with a listener whose devotion to Cher Lloyd had extended to commissioning an “I Love Cher” T-shirt.
The listener had worn it to watch the show at home after being unable to get tour tickets, despite her father’s embarrassment. Scott’s first day back mixed the genuine significance of his Uganda trip with exactly the sort of very particular pop-culture obsession that the programme loved to celebrate.
