Miranda and Auto-Santa
Scott welcomed Miranda Hart before the final episode of her BBC Two series. He had arrived late to the programme but had quickly become a fan, while listeners told him about favourite scenes and organised “Miranda Mondays”. Hugh Stevens was especially excited, hovering nearby with a first-series DVD that someone else had bought him for Christmas.
Miranda discussed the show and the hazards of being tall and unsteady in snowy weather. Scott and the team also talked about the final episode without spoiling it for Beccy, and noted how much the studio had embraced Miranda’s Christmas appearance.
Santa then went automated in Auto-Santa, where Natalie from his call centre contacted celebrities while he made his list. There were more wrapping stories, including a listener who had unwrapped an Xbox 360 only to find a cardboard cut-out inside, and another mock David Beckham Christmas album.
