Matt Fincham’s most annoying year
On the penultimate show before Christmas, Scott and Beccy looked back at a year of irritating Matt Fincham. Their studio producer Gemma, nursing a hangover in an oversized hoodie, was also freely interrupting on talkback to criticise Christmas records and offer coffee.
They discussed shops being told to stop playing Slade’s “Merry Xmas Everybody” after complaints and asked why Christmas products were everywhere if Christmas music was supposedly unwelcome. The programme also played a deliberately unseasonal Jools Holland game.
Stupid Street was asked which celebrities people would buy presents for. Suggested gifts included football shorts and no top for David Beckham, trainers for Jay-Z, a moustache for the Queen and, most memorably, a goat for Beckham.
