Chelsee learns what she has agreed to
Chelsee Healey arrived to promote the Red Nose Day Danceathon but had barely mentioned Innuendo Bingo beforehand. Scott suspected that nobody had properly explained the second part of her booking and found her watching an old Susan Boyle game in the green room shortly before going on air.
The Danceathon was planned as a six-hour event at the SSE Arena in Wembley on 8 March. Chelsee, Davina McCall, Emma Bunton and other guests would each lead the crowd for 30 minutes, while schools, gyms and local groups could arrange their own versions. Chelsee proposed a routine involving the “Single Ladies” hand movement, although Scott believed his crab choreography could also fill half an hour.
She had recently completed an aerial dance performance on Get Your Act Together and regarded it as one of her hardest challenges. That experience did not make the prospect of sitting opposite Chris with a mouthful of water any less worrying.
Innuendo Bingo
Chelsee and Chris began with clips involving Michaela Strachan being invited to sniff something and quiz-show questions collapsing around unfortunate wording. A contestant called Johnny caused particular problems when a question about an apartment and a deflated tyre became badly tangled.
Chelsee had chosen a smaller cup and remained visibly uncertain about the entire game. She nevertheless retaliated, soaked Chris and completed the clips, then walked out before she could repeat the Danceathon details herself. Scott accepted that her first appearance had felt slightly like an ambush.
Mosquito nets and a future at sea
Greg reported from a school in Uganda where the team had distributed nearly 500 mosquito nets. Almost every family on the register had previously answered that they did not sleep beneath one. The new nets therefore created an immediate and measurable change, while the broader project continued improving basic healthcare and hygiene.
The day’s fundraising total reached £81,893, taking Radio 1 listeners’ total beyond £358,000. Greg also joined Real or No Real and confirmed that a Strictly Come Dancing cruise could include Craig Revel Horwood, a professional dancer and the ship’s captain on its judging panel.
That fact followed Chris discovering an 86-year-old woman known as Mama Lee who had lived aboard a cruise ship for seven years. The cost, constant restaurants, ballroom dancing and crew members who bent over backwards to keep her happy sounded like Scott’s ideal retirement. Scott added that he could perform the crab dance twice a week to pay his way.
