Katniss joins the game
Jenny attended a midnight screening of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 and heard what sounded like repeated rounds of the show’s feature. Peeta described memories and asked Katniss whether they were “real or not real”, with Katniss providing the answer.
Scott initially suspected that a tired Jenny had combined the film with Radio 1 in her head. The team obtained the relevant audio, added the familiar game music and discovered that the dialogue fitted almost perfectly. The phrase served a serious purpose in the story, but the programme claimed it as an unofficial cinematic adaptation.
Deadlock in Amy’s house
Amy reported that the ultimatum negotiated three days earlier was working. Daniel had not farted on her once, even admitting that he nearly did so one morning but thought of Scott and stopped.
Amy had honoured her side by watching no Kardashians. The couple had reached domestic deadlock, with Daniel enjoying a television free of the family and Amy enjoying uninterrupted mornings. She privately hoped he might fail occasionally so that she could reclaim an episode, but the daily alarm-clock behaviour had ended.
Is it snowing yet?
A listener said snow had arrived in Aberdeen, giving Scott permission to play Michael Bublé’s Let It Snow. The show requested photographic proof from trustworthy listeners and immediately received old library images, obvious edits and pictures with snow drawn over them.
Scott was annoyed by the deception but increasingly willing to begin Christmas. A nearby Italian restaurant had covered itself in bright decorations, while even the person selling him a festive bake had reacted strangely when he said “Merry Christmas”.
Scott also offered a listener a Newcastle night-out itinerary involving bowling, Jesmond, bars, simulated golf and a late kebab. Locals pointed out that the route crossed the city inefficiently, revealing that Scott knew several individual venues without understanding how they fitted together. Adele Roberts played the actual Real or No Real, although the Hunger Games had already supplied the day’s most convincing round.
