Scott rejects the idea of being hangry
Scott presented alone because Chris was away, while Scott himself had missed Monday’s programme. A text exchange with his friend Luke began the day’s argument. Luke responded to a simple enquiry about his mood with one word, “hangry”, meaning angry because he was hungry.
Listeners insisted it was real. One described throwing food towards a hungry girlfriend as if feeding an animal before she turned into Satan.
Am I the only one who salutes magpies?
Greg James joined a Google Game beginning “Am I the only one that…?” Scott admitted enjoying the smell of old, slightly damp sponges, while Greg watched A Place in the Sun on demand and invented small games in his head.
Greg also saluted every magpie and greeted it with “Morning, Mr Magpie”, believing that failing to do so invited bad luck. A listener confirmed that she also saluted single birds and politely addressed a pair as Mr and Mrs Magpie.
Sarah commits to the flight
Sarah returned with an update on the trip she booked to see Paddy. He had continued making her laugh on the telephone and apparently had not heard their earlier radio discussion. Sarah now said she would definitely travel on Friday afternoon.
