2 February 2007: Estate Agent Prank and the Hen Weekend Mix-Up

Scott impersonates pop star Mika to wind up a snooty London estate agent, then reunites a listener with the man she kissed on a hen weekend—only to discover he’s already someone else’s boyfriend.

The show opens with Scott targeting an exclusive London estate agency that has been rude and dismissive to listener Graham. Posing as “Judith” from an artist management company, Scott claims his client Mika (the chart-topping pop star) is looking to buy property. He gets the agent excited about a potential commission before handing over to his Mika impersonation, complete with references to the singer’s hits and deliberately vague, frustrating responses about which songs the agent knows. It’s a classic wind-up call that highlights the agent’s sudden eagerness to help once they think real money is involved.

The second half of the show delivers an unexpectedly emotional turn. Listener Annabel had been on the show previously describing a man she met and kissed on a hen weekend in Nottingham—dark hair, tall, with a snake tattoo on his neck, dressed as an Australian. A caller named Julia rings in claiming to know him: he’s her boyfriend, Mark. Scott brings both women on air together, and Julia reveals that Mark came home the night before and admitted to the kiss, having been identified by specific details Annabel had given on air. The situation spirals quickly. Annabel and Julia are both upset, and Scott finds himself having inadvertently caused a relationship breakdown by publicising the description detailed enough for Mark to recognise himself. The awkwardness is compounded by the fact that Annabel, Julia, and Mark would all be attending the same wedding the following week. Text messages flood in from listeners with varying opinions on whether a drunken kiss on a stag weekend is worth breaking up over.
