A golden compilation episode featuring some of the show’s best prank calls and pranks: Darth Vader rings a confused garage, Laura ventures out disguised as a bearded man, and the classic take-away game creates chaos between two Chinese restaurants.
Presented as a “Danny Howard Gold” compilation while Scott was on holiday, the episode showcases three signature Scott Mills pranks. The first segment features a Darth Vader celebrity impersonation call to a garage, with the caller adopting the Dark Lord’s demanding tone while asking about mysterious plans and transmissions, leaving the garage staff bewildered and trying to be helpful despite the absurdity. The second feature sends Laura out undercover as a man, complete with baggy hoodie, beanie hat, fake beard and moustache. She’s sent to a pub where she awkwardly attempts to chat up female staff with stilted chat-up lines, visits the men’s toilets for the first time, and tries to enter a lap-dancing club, only to be turned away by security who don’t believe her cover story. The episode also includes the famous take-away game, where two Chinese restaurants are connected via a conference call, each believing they’re taking an order from a customer. The confusion escalates when one takeaway insists on collection only while the other thinks delivery is happening, leading to mutual bewilderment and the line “We don’t do delivery” repeated in increasingly frustrated tones until one caller gives up. Additional segments include Maria, a woman who wrote an entire dance album for a man after just one date, and a series of pranks on Scott’s gullible mother, including a fake police arrest call about stolen livestock and a phone-cleaning scam. The episode closes with a fake press office call warning Scott about a scandal involving Jo Wiley, followed by a florist prank where callers successfully get a flower shop to write insulting messages about themselves on gift cards.
