Beccy’s Classifieds: home edition
The feature concentrated on adverts offering places to live.
An “attractive city lawyer” offered a free room in exchange for a “mutual exploration of sexual desire”, hoping the arrangement might later become a conventional relationship.
Another man wanted a tenant to pretend to be his lover so that his wife would finally move out. The applicant might need to kiss him and make fake noises in the bedroom.
A woman in her mid-sixties offered to rent out the large bathroom of her one-bedroom home. The tenant could place an air mattress on the floor but had to remove themselves and the mattress whenever she needed the toilet. Guests were allowed only if they also remained in the bathroom.
Big Weekend
The programme continued promoting Radio 1’s Swindon festival and discussed artists, ticket applications and possible collaborations.
Show and Tell
Another object was brought into the studio for the team to inspect, continuing the regular feature in which items were demonstrated on air.

He called five butchers in Preston asking for Dick, Dickie, “the Dickster” and “the Dick Meister General”. The first four denied having anybody by that name.
The final call reached a man who said he was Dick, although Scott admitted he might no longer have been calling Preston. One successful call was counted.
Greg James and Pippa then pretended to be a couple in a busy pub. Greg interrupted lunch, went down on one knee and asked Pippa to marry him.
Pippa forgot to say yes until prompted but then cried for real after becoming caught up in the moment. Other customers applauded for seven seconds.
