30 March 2009: Scott receives six electric shocks and Beccy’s Spanish hotel prank collapses

The Shockingly Big Fact Hunt

Beccy revived the old Big Fact Hunt, in which listeners searched for an answer during the length of a song.

The new version added an electric dog-training collar around Scott’s neck.

The question was: “What is the name of my brother?” The correct answer was Wes.

After the song, the team froze the text screen and read the first ten messages. Scott received a shock every time somebody answered correctly.

Correct answers came from several listeners, including Michael in Lincoln, Emma, Jonathan from Unofficial Mills and Jared.

Wrong answers included Daniel, Callum, wind, microwave and Bob. One listener simply asked for Scott to be shocked anyway.

Scott received six shocks and immediately argued that the feature should never return.

Beccy’s hotel prank

Beccy attempted revenge on Chappers while he was away from the programme.

She phoned in a Spanish accent, introduced herself as Maria from his hotel reception and claimed the adult film he had ordered was unavailable.

Chappers immediately asked which hotel she meant and explained that he was not staying in one.

Beccy continued regardless, offering a film involving men or one starring Judi Dench. A colleague briefly joined as “Raoul”.

The prank failed because Chappers was not abroad, there had been no international ringtone and nobody had checked where he was spending his holiday.

Listening back, Beccy admitted it had gone much worse than she had believed at the time.
