Sara covers the royal engagement
The announcement of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s engagement gave Sara and Beccy a major topic to play with. Beccy’s neck scarf was declared vaguely royal, and the team discussed the inevitable rush of television coverage, souvenir merchandise and purple newspaper front pages.
Rather than simply report the news, the show imagined the roles Sara and Beccy might take at the wedding, from DJing to helping with the buffet and creating commemorative mugs, oven gloves and wallpaper. It was royal coverage in the distinctly unserious style of the afternoon programme.
