Is wrapping yourself up a good present?
Scott was anxious about hosting his family for Christmas for the first time and became overwhelmed by the prospect of stuffing a turkey, organising seats and buying items such as reindeer napkin rings. He also admitted to office-Christmas-party fear after previous Radio 1 events had left him embarrassed.
The team tested the lyrics of Magnus Carlsson’s “Wrap Myself in Paper” by sending Scott’s friend Chris to Fearne Cotton as a giant Christmas parcel. Chris spent hours crouched in a box with air holes before Fearne unwrapped him. His opening line, “Hello, you don’t know me,” did not make the experiment any less strange.
Fearne asked, “What do I do with you?”, offered him an awkward hug and agreed to keep him only for the day. Chris concluded that wrapping yourself up was not a good Christmas gift. Stupid Street also considered whether people had heard that “the bird is the word”.
