Chappers rings in to discuss Chris’s new career aspiration to become a football pundit on Final Score, while Smooth Talking Dan surveys Stupid Street on who’s sexy and knows it, and Beccy takes a soaking in Innuendo Bingo: The Duel.
Chris has decided his next career move is to become a pundit on BBC’s Final Score, and enlists Danny’s help to call Chappers—who presents the show—to see if an opportunity might arise. Chappers is initially hesitant, citing concerns about using personal connections to land jobs, but agrees to consider it. To prepare, Chris has been practising his commentary skills by approaching strangers playing tennis in Regent’s Park. His attempt to commentate on their game while hiding in the bushes is painfully awkward: he loses track of the score, asks the players what the score is mid-match (which puts them off), makes unflattering remarks about their playing, and eventually has a ball land near him. He also attempts post-match interviews, which are blunt and uncomfortable. Chappers listens to the tape and diplomatically suggests Chris needs to work on a broader range of sports before he can give a full analysis, before non-committally saying he’ll “leave it” with him—which everyone recognises as a polite no.
On Stupid Street, Smooth Talking Dan asks ten people how sexy they think they are out of five. The responses are mixed, with people ranging from twos to fives (and one person insisting they’re a six out of five). Beccy and Chris make observations about what “sexy” actually means versus just being good-looking, with Beccy noting she’s seen herself look sexy on the Barrowman logo appearance coming up Friday.
Innuendo Bingo: The Duel sees Chris and Danny in protective bin bags getting splashed with water as they try to keep straight faces listening to dodgy double entendres from home improvement and baking shows—featuring Phil Spencer, Kirstie Allsopp, Lorraine Pascale, and others.
