From A-list to Z-list
A friend asked Scott where he belonged on a celebrity scale running from A to Z. Scott chose V, insisting that he had not entered radio to become famous and did not consider himself a conventional celebrity.
Chris thought V was too low and proposed J if every letter genuinely represented a level between Hollywood stars and total obscurity. He placed himself outside Z, merely waiting for admission to the lowest list. Listeners supplied alternative comparisons, but the exercise exposed a flaw: people regularly said A-, B-, C- and Z-list while almost never describing anybody as J-, P- or V-list.
“Yas” enters the dictionary
Steph brought a Show and Tell after seeing that “yas” had been added to an online dictionary. Scott had used the word constantly before a video of Lady Gaga’s entourage helped it spread across the programme.
Scott resisted claiming invention, even though Chris and Steph argued that his use had helped popularise it in Britain. He was happy to celebrate official recognition without pretending that Gaga fans, drag culture and the wider internet had copied him personally.
A substantial Bamboleo
Chris returned after missing the previous day’s Who Game and demanded the full Wednesday experience. Listeners had already arranged alarms and work breaks around Bamboleo, allowing the gap to become a nationwide roll call of offices, roads, classrooms and vehicles.
The performance also prepared Chris for Dynamo’s visit the following day. He wondered whether the magician would make the water disappear before it could be sprayed, although Scott pointed out that this trick was normally called swallowing.
Alice Levine played Real or No Real. Chris Martin really had sent Nick Grimshaw scented candles after enjoying his Breakfast appearance, reinforcing the growing expectation that celebrity guests should leave gifts. Scott suggested Alice begin bringing food or prosecco for her weekly game, while she correctly identified the proposal as a request for free lunch rather than etiquette.
