Scott revealed the full Relationship Transfer Deadline Day line-up. Alice Levine, under her continuing Barbara Windsor identity, would monitor calls and texts from the hub. Olly Murs returned as the eye in the sky, exchanging the previous year’s Love Copter for a Love Balloon.
Chris Kamara would supply celebrity transfer gossip, Joe Sugg was placed in charge of the whole internet and the Vamps moved into Terms and Conditions HQ. Scott remained the anchor while Chris occupied the rumour mill. Anybody still in a relationship at 3pm on 16 December would be locked into the deal until 6 January.
Maddy Hill and Danny-Boy Hatchard
Maddy Hill and Danny-Boy Hatchard joined the show after appearing in the documentary EastEnders at 30: Real Life Drama. They discussed the responsibility involved in portraying Nancy Carter’s epilepsy and Lee Carter’s depression. Research, conversations with people who had lived experience and letters from viewers helped them understand how closely audiences identified with the stories.
They then moved from a serious discussion into a very wet EastEnders edition of Innuendo Bingo. Their improvised protective clothing included Christmas jumpers in unconventional places. Clips ranged from maritime flags requiring a tug to an old scene in which Ethel smuggled Willy into church. Maddy and Danny-Boy’s sibling-like competitiveness rapidly turned the studio into a spray zone.

Alice reported from the BBC Music Awards in Birmingham as Barbara Windsor. She arrived early with supplies, interviewed Hozier about surviving the rain and wandered into Ellie Goulding’s dressing room. There she discussed finding pound coins, warned against the lentils and investigated the stage wardrobe with enough enthusiasm to be gently ushered away.
Clara Amfo played Real or No Real, while the programme continued collecting examples of partners improving their behaviour as Deadline Day approached.
