Project Murphy imagines the impossible
Chris presents Project Murphy for Show and Tell, an artificial-intelligence bot that answers “what if” questions by generating images. His first request turns Scott into the face on a coin. Further attempts place him in Tudor clothing and apparently marry him to Dannii Minogue, although the system sometimes swaps the wrong faces.
The experiment becomes unsettling when Chris asks to be shown as Margot Robbie’s best friend and receives an image combining his face with her body. Scott is impressed by the speed and quality but frustrated that, when offered limitless possibilities, neither of them can think beyond inserting themselves into celebrity photographs.
Alice Levine prepares for her bus
Alice Levine interrupts the studio to discuss the Radio 1 promotional bus being named for her in Nottingham. She hopes for a formal unveiling with champagne, giant scissors and the mayor, and plans to take her father to see it.
Scott and Chris have secretly invited listeners to suggest slogans. “Face for radio and the back of a bus” has been selected, to Alice’s horror. The phrase will sit beside details of her weekend programme, meaning the bus that passes her parents’ home will advertise both her show and an insult about her appearance.
A perfect Bangers record
Delivery driver Dave regularly crosses the Scott Mills Bridge at Fleet Services and passes Watford’s Vicarage Road, combining two of the programme’s favourite landmarks. He judges Storm Queen’s “Look Right Through” against DJ Snake and Lil Jon’s “Turn Down for What”.
Dave chooses Scott’s Storm Queen track, giving him a 2–0 lead after two days. The victory adds to Chris’s growing envy: Scott has the bridge, Alice has a bus and Chris has only a youth-hostel room briefly named after him.
