18 October 2016: Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee start another water fight

BBC Breakfast creates peak cringe

The previous day’s confrontation discussion continues with Catherine Tate’s appearance on BBC Breakfast. Her hosts mistakenly associate “Yeah but, no but” with one of her characters, only to learn that the phrase belongs to Little Britain.

The apology is so prolonged that Scott struggles to hear it through. After Dino’s “la la la” technique and another listener’s inability to watch The Apprentice, the clip becomes the programme’s strongest test of cringe tolerance.

The bathroom needs testing

Chris finally has a working toilet in his unfinished house, but builder Shabba says it needs serious use before he can confirm there are no leaks. Scott interprets this as an instruction to give it the most demanding possible trial.

The news matters because Chris has been relying on friends and his girlfriend’s parents. He is delighted by the prospect of privacy, even if the first visit now carries the responsibility of testing the plumbing.

Joe and Caspar return

Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee join Chris for a three-person Innuendo Bingo. Their previous appearance developed into a full water fight, and the studio’s additional protective plastic suggests nobody expects greater discipline this time.

Clips from local radio, television and listener discoveries quickly produce the promised soaking. Afterwards, Scott and Chris continue their serious warning that music may be running out: there are only so many combinations of notes, and an increasing number of new songs remind listeners of something already written.
