The window closes at 3.55
Natasha calls to confirm the rules of Relationship Transfer Deadline Day. Scott and Chris decide that anybody considering a break-up must act by 3.55pm, after which it becomes unacceptably cruel to leave a partner during Christmas.
Once the deadline passes, every existing relationship is protected until an unspecified reopening date in January. Natasha has no intention of using the window, but callers with doubts receive a final warning that indecision will commit them to presents, family visits and New Year’s Eve together.
Apprentice candidates are sent for lunch
Candidates from The Apprentice arrive after the final and are immediately given a new task: obtain lunch for the programme team. Scott argues that calling an errand a task makes it legitimate, while the hungry production staff supply requirements and expect the candidates to organise themselves.
The group treat the order with the urgency of a televised business challenge, dividing responsibility and trying to satisfy an awkward client. Their reward is no investment, only the knowledge that they completed one final assignment after leaving Lord Sugar’s boardroom.
Christmas party damage is assessed
Scott and Chris return from Radio 1’s party with stories still being pieced together from photographs and messages. Bangers reaches the end of another week and door 16 of the Whooovent Calendar produces a newspaper-themed forgotten sound.
The programme signs off for the weekend with the relationship window firmly shut. From this point, any seasonal argument must be endured until the transfer market reopens in 2017.
