Whose tooth is it anyway?
The tooth discovered in the Innuendo Bingo bin has become an investigation. Scott rings Busted’s Matt Willis and other previous contestants to ask them to check their mouths. Everyone has their teeth, although one caller admits to losing one in a completely separate incident. The questions become increasingly absurd: did anybody leave a tooth behind, would they like it returned, and should today’s guest be warned before putting his face anywhere near the equipment?
Scott also answers a listener who has noticed that Innuendo Bingo contains no bingo. There is no hidden rule or lost scoring system: the team invented the game years earlier, could not think of a name, and the meaningless title simply stuck. Scott particularly enjoys rival stations copying both the format and its inexplicable name.
Danny Mac gets very wet
Fresh from Strictly Come Dancing, Danny Mac arrives with no fear of the game and no shirtless costume despite hopeful messages from listeners. Scott repeatedly worries that saying his name will make people expect “Danny Mac” as a dance-music introduction, so Chris prepares a personalised jingle to remove any doubt.
The clips give Danny and Chris plenty to survive: a man arriving with a weapon to tackle undergrowth, Phil Spencer’s property language and a yoga teacher who expects a wet mat after practice. Danny is an excellent player, aiming almost every burst directly at Chris and leaving both of them soaked. The guest who began by dismissing it as “just water” quickly discovers how effective a mouthful can be.
Competitive mates and a Japanese assignment
Chris’ conviction that he is a better friend to Doug than Doug is to him prompts listeners to confess their own competitive friendships. Greg says his rivalry with Paul began when an administrative error placed Paul in the wrong maths set. Their contests now cover wingman ability, sporting knowledge and years of PlayStation results—the important foundations of a lifelong friendship.
Chris then reveals that he is flying to Japan to film another programme about extreme festivals, following his visit to the Gathering of the Juggalos. He does not yet know much about the assignment, but Scott is already more excited and anxious than the person making the 17-hour journey.
