Adele prepares for the marathon
Adele Roberts was two days away from running the London Marathon for Heads Together and described the campaign’s aim of encouraging people to discuss mental health as openly as physical health.
Scott and Chris claimed they had tried to find celebrity encouragement, naming Jedward, Joe Swash, Bobby Norris and even Buckingham Palace.
The biggest surprise enters the studio
Prince William and Catherine, then the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, walked into the studio with Greg James.
Adele was completely stunned.
They thanked her for supporting Heads Together and discussed recognising emotions, speaking openly and helping young people and parents address problems earlier.
Scott had kept the visit secret for weeks, including from family and colleagues, and recognised it as one of his most extraordinary Radio 1 days.
