Scott and Chris considered Liam Payne’s first solo single, “Strip That Down”, which had arrived that morning. Chris called it a more mature sound and enjoyed the stream of shirtless promotional photographs, while Scott noted the lyric about leaving One Direction behind. They correctly identified Ed Sheeran as a co-writer and discussed how each former band member was now pursuing something distinct. The conversation soon drifted into retired show ideas, including a hopeless remote-control rat once steered under Radio 1 toilet doors and into the Live Lounge. Its glowing eyes and poor handling had convinced nobody that it was real, and one guest had simply kicked it.
Only Ben had been to the darts
Three callers claimed to be suffering after Thursday-night excess. Katie said she had been drinking rosé on holiday in France with her mother. Ben lay in bed after calling in sick to work and described watching darts from the cheap seats. Daisy blamed a rooftop bar opening that followed a Chinese meal. Scott and Chris suspected Daisy, whose vague account sounded genuinely impaired, but she revealed that she had stayed home. Ben was the true hangover, having overdone it at the darts. Katie was genuinely ill too, though not from alcohol: she blamed food poisoning from goat’s cheese. The game ended with a reminder to drink responsibly and an admission that all three had produced alarmingly persuasive unwell voices.

Chris brought clips from Playa in Marbella after another viewer confirmed that Elliott Wright’s restaurant was actually several miles outside Marbella. The show’s solemn narration made ordinary preparations sound momentous, yet Chris had watched five episodes and become invested in whether an opening party would succeed. Real or No Real then introduced Sudan, the last male rhino of his kind, whose Tinder profile was intended to attract attention and donations. That story revived Chris’s proposed app AniMap, which would tell users the distance to their nearest chosen animal, whether a penguin, gorilla, shark or blue whale. He remained convinced that knowing an animal was only a few hundred metres away would be compelling. A final fashion claim was also real: a luxury label was selling a blue shopper resembling an IKEA bag for £1,671, a price neither presenter could justify.
