Scott tests his theory that Americans can’t do British accents by calling people across the US, while the Loose Lips feature backfires spectacularly when Jordan accidentally tells the whole nation about his mum’s boob job.
The show opens with a feature testing whether Americans can master a British accent. Scott calls workers at diners, waffle houses, and the International House of Pancakes, asking them to attempt lines like “Hello, how are you?” and “I’m from Britain.” Contestants including Brittany, a waffle house worker, and a confident caller named James (who works at iHop) all fail hilariously, with James attempting cockney (“All right, Governor, careful on the apples and pears”) before giving up. The feature reinforces Scott’s hypothesis: Americans simply cannot do British accents convincingly.
The Loose Lips segment features 17-year-old Jordan, who nominates his mate Rick Walker as having the loosest lips. Jordan explains that Rick rings him every Wednesday after work, desperate for gossip—he’s an incurable blabbermouth who once told everyone at school about someone’s mum getting breast surgery and never kept the secret. To test Rick’s discretion, Jordan plants a false story about getting off with a girl. Rick immediately falls for it, repeating the made-up story with enthusiasm. When another friend, Adam, calls Rick asking if he knows what happened on Saturday night, Rick can’t help himself—despite knowing he shouldn’t say anything, he spills the gossip anyway, saying “something happened” and admitting he’s “not supposed to say that” but doing so anyway.
Scott and Chappers also discuss appropriate trouser-wearing levels, touching on the Dallas “anti-sagging” campaign, which includes billboards and a “Pull Up Your Pants” rap.
