19 February 2025: A mystery guest and EastEnders anniversary week

Preparing for the mystery guest

Scott began Wednesday knowing that somebody would enter the studio at 8.30 but without being told who it was. He worried less about having no prepared questions than about the possibility of failing to recognise the person immediately.

The team offered deliberately unhelpful clues, while listeners sent guesses ranging from plausible broadcasters and musicians to people who were clearly not in the building.

The mystery-guest format made Scott’s uncertainty part of the segment. He repeatedly checked the studio doors and admitted that the most stressful moment would be the first few seconds, when everybody else already knew the identity.

The mystery guest

The guest entered after 8.30 and Scott conducted the interview without prior research, using their career and current project to guide the conversation. The automated transcript is too inconsistent around the name to identify the guest with sufficient confidence, so this archive entry does not attach an uncertain identity.

The discussion nevertheless retained the feature’s central appeal: Scott having to discover why the person was there at the same time as the audience and adapt his questions in real time.

Regular features

The Easiest Quiz, Good Morning Minute and Birthday Game all featured. Their complete contestant details and song sequences are not consistently preserved in the source transcript, so no unsupported names, scores or selections have been added.

The handover reviewed how Scott had managed the mystery interview and looked ahead to Robert De Niro appearing on Thursday’s programme.
