Beccy’s Classifieds
Greg James read another selection of genuine listings collected by Beccy.
The first major item was a homemade giant Jammie Dodger priced at £5.50.
Its creators had originally intended to eat it with friends and family but decided it was too special. The advert warned that the four-day-old biscuit had become soft and recommended that buyers should not eat it unless they particularly enjoyed stale food.
Scott admitted that he preferred softened biscuits, while Chappers argued that Jammie Dodgers should remain fresh and hard. Beccy suggested breathing through a hard biscuit to make it chewy.
A short classified message thanked an unknown passenger who had left tissues beside somebody pretending to look out of a train window while crying.
Another advertiser offered twelve final Rolos free of charge. He had saved them for a special person, only to discover that she was lactose-intolerant and disliked the gesture. He had instead obtained a good pencil for her and offered to swap the Rolos for lactose-free versions.
The most expensive listing offered a genuine hair sample from a Spanish Oscar-winning actress for £1,000. The team guessed that it belonged to Penélope Cruz and questioned how the seller had obtained it.
Oh, What’s Occurring?
One round asked five people on Stupid Street to complete the opening lyric of Lily Allen’s The Fear: “I want to be rich and I want lots of money…”
Only one person supplied the correct continuation: “I don’t care about clever, I don’t care about funny.”
Wrong answers included wanting it to be sunny, continuing to claim benefits and “win the lottery”.
Another challenge tested whether the team could sing in tune while wearing headphones and unable to hear themselves.
Beccy attempted Take That’s Greatest Day, Chappers sang Whitney Houston and Scott performed Kelly Clarkson. Despite confidence beforehand, the recordings showed that none sounded reliably in tune.
A final round continued the game’s usual mix of counting and prediction.
