24 February 2009: Beccy refuses to leave her boyfriend for Rupert Penry-Jones

The Honesty Game

In The Honesty Game, the studio lights were lowered to create a supposed safe zone in which any team member could be asked a personal question and had to answer honestly.

Beccy disliked the feature because she never knew what listeners would ask.

The first caller wanted to know whether she would leave her boyfriend for a celebrity.

Beccy initially said no. Scott then suggested Alex James, Caleb Followill and Rupert Penry-Jones.

She continued to deny that she would leave the relationship, although she admitted that if both she and Rupert were single, “obviously things would happen”.

The team repeatedly tested the wording of her answer and warned against starting a feud with Rupert’s wife, Dervla Kirwan.

When were you last seen naked?

Another caller asked Scott when somebody had last seen him naked.

Scott answered that it had happened earlier that day at the Comic Relief offices.

The questioning became more complicated as the team tried to establish why he had removed his clothes, who had been present and which parts had actually been visible.

Further calls covered relationships, attraction, embarrassment and habits away from Radio 1. The team challenged answers they believed were evasive.

Oh, What’s Occurring?

The programme also included the daily prediction game, using recent clips, public questions and counting challenges.

The transcript preserves a full edition with Beccy and Chappers competing across the usual three situations.
