Mills: The Musical
Scott revealed that a theatre had been booked at the Edinburgh Festival for three nights during the second week of August.
The difficulty was that the team had no completed script, coherent plot or finished songs. The working idea became Danny Howard: The Musical, despite Danny himself not yet having supplied a story.
Listeners were asked to send musical numbers, plot lines, character ideas and suggestions for how Scott, Beccy, Chappers, the flatmate and other recurring figures could appear.
The programme played early submissions and began treating the audience as an informal writing team. Scott admitted that booking the venue before creating the show had forced them to make it happen.

The Posh Radio 4 Lady read more correspondence about recent programme features, Big Weekend and listeners’ ideas for the developing musical.
Messages included suggestions for characters, jokes that could become songs and reactions to the programme’s increasingly elaborate listener-created projects.

The day’s prediction game included a special contribution involving Jono from Unofficial Mills.
The programme used Jono’s familiarity with the show and its recurring features as part of a telephone or recognition challenge, turning the fan site itself into material for the game.
Other rounds continued the usual mix of counting repeated words, predicting how long somebody would remain on a call and testing reactions to an unusual setup.
