15 May 2009: More celebrities baffle the old people and the musical gathers momentum

Dear Scott

Listener correspondence returned to the week’s new musical project, the previous old-people descriptions and the recurring members of the programme.

The Posh Radio 4 Lady read the messages in her mock-serious style while the team corrected misheard names and discussed which suggestions might become part of the Edinburgh production.

What Are Those Old People On About?

Older people were again shown photographs of current celebrities and asked to describe them without saying their names.

The clues focused on faces, clothes, hairstyles, age, careers and romantic relationships. Scott, Beccy and Chappers committed to guesses before the later clues made the identities clearer.

As usual, some descriptions were sharply accurate while others compared modern celebrities with much older public figures or ordinary people the contributors knew.

Oh, What’s Occurring?

The daily prediction game used three fresh pieces of radio, television or public material.

The contestants had to estimate repeated words, predict a stranger’s reaction or judge the length of a telephone exchange before Scott revealed the complete clips and final scores.
