13 July 2009: 3OH!3 fly to Britain for a single interview

3OH!3

American duo 3OH!3 made an extraordinarily short visit to Britain.

They had performed in the United States, flown overnight through New York, landed in London around 9.30am, visited Radio 1 and planned to fly home at 8pm without staying overnight.

They joked that they were collecting enough frequent-flyer miles to travel to the moon.

The flight had been their first experience of a reclining first-class seat. One member pretended he already knew how everything worked and consequently did not turn the seat into a bed, while the other admitted being new and received help from cabin crew.

Scott questioned them closely about the airline meal. They remembered steak and the accompanying dishes more fondly than the meat itself.

A fan named Brianna joined by phone and said she was shocked to be speaking to them. The duo promoted forthcoming appearances at Reading and Leeds.

They discussed supporting Katy Perry and working with her on Starstrukk. They joked that she mentioned Scott and Chappers constantly and had tattoos of their faces.

The pair had discovered British food including beans on toast, partly through a Lily Allen lyric. They also described trying unsuccessfully to impress women at JFK by mentioning their number-one record.

Scott offered them his spare room rather than allowing them to rush back to the airport, although the invitation remained a joke.
