Nick Knowles, Bow Tie Thursday and Beccy’s cottage prank
The Posh Radio 4 Lady read the week’s Dear Scott messages, including a plea for an International Bow Tie Thursday at polling stations, work and school. Scott and Beccy debated whether anyone should wear a clip-on version, while Scott also tried to escape an old promise to give the entire country a bottle of wine if Busted reunited.
Nick Knowles came in as Beccy’s long-established favourite guest. He spoke about working on DIY SOS, knowing Biffy Clyro and the team’s habit of drinking together after filming, as well as the time a colleague injured himself by falling face-first into a cheese sandwich.
The interview also covered the real reason listeners had started calling him a hero. Knowles had recently helped a driver after seeing a car crash on the M4, his second rescue from a wrecked vehicle in eight months, although he resisted Scott’s efforts to turn it into a grand superhero story.
Elsewhere, Beccy replayed her prank call to Matt Fincham, posing as someone connected to a Welsh holiday cottage company after complaints about his supposed interest in ‘busty blondes’. The team also enjoyed Justin Bieber’s confused television answer about Germany, concluding that he was unlikely to have much geographical anticipation for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Bangor.
