Korean Billy waits at the wrong airport door
Chris is travelling through Seoul on his way to Japan, so Scott arranges an international welcome from YouTuber Korean Billy. Billy makes a four-hour round trip and waits at the airport with a sign, only for Chris to emerge through a different exit and miss him completely. Scott attempts to coordinate the meeting by phone, but by then Chris is already moving on.
Billy remains unfailingly cheerful about the wasted expedition, and Scott hopes they can try again on the return journey. The mishap establishes the day’s mood: a grand plan, two willing participants and one very small logistical detail defeating everybody.
Joey Essex gets his head around Bingo
Matt Edmondson becomes the “supply teacher to a sidekick” in Chris’ absence and faces Joey Essex in Innuendo Bingo. Joey is back for another series of Celebs Go Dating, hoping this time to meet somebody outside the celebrity circuit. He is less certain about the game in front of him, repeatedly mangling its name into something like “Indian Go Bingo” and appearing not entirely convinced that he understands an innuendo.
Understanding is optional. Matt and Joey load up with water and work through the clips, with Scott directing a contest whose rules are mainly to keep a straight face and aim the consequences at the person opposite. Joey’s mixture of concentration, confusion and total commitment makes him an ideal player.
Tom Hardy grunts and Alice loses a cat
The week’s Tom Hardy fixation grows when listener Matt Harris edits together every grunt made by Hardy’s character James Delaney in Taboo. The montage turns serious drama into an oddly soothing companion to the CBeebies bedtime story and Chris’ outdoor imitation.
Alice Levine joins Real or No Real and reveals that she still describes herself as a cat owner even though her house cat Margaret disappeared six years earlier. Her relaxed account makes Scott think she should have searched harder. A survey claiming single people prefer dog owners to cat owners is real, and Alice accepts that Margaret’s disappearance may prevent her from being trusted with another pet. Between the absent cat, the absent Chris and the missed airport meeting, the show spends much of the day looking for people and animals who are elsewhere.
