Scott and Chris take over breakfast
Scott and Chris began two weeks covering the Radio 1 Breakfast Show while Nick Grimshaw was away. Scott thought the occasion deserved a smarter appearance, only for Chris to arrive in leisurewear after a packed weekend involving a wedding, DJ sets at the O2 and the London Eurovision Party.
The early start also gave them a national platform for the conclusion to the story listeners had followed throughout the previous week.
Sarah reports back from Ireland
Sarah had returned from visiting Paddy, the Irish man she met in Cardiff during the rugby. She had booked a flight after one night together, nearly abandoned the idea and finally travelled after repeated encouragement from the show.
Asked to describe the weekend, she declared that everything went very well and Paddy exceeded all her expectations. She expected to see him again and did not reject Scott’s increasingly ambitious suggestions of moving to Ireland, a reverse proposal and a future Breakfast Show wedding.
TOWIE becomes a drama examination
Scott recruited drama student Olivia for an unusual piece of exam preparation. She received a script recreating Gemma Collins’s famous TOWIE warning, “You ain’t ever gonna get this candy”, and approached it with theatrical commitment.
Real or No Real considered whether Kasabian had recreated the Theresa May and Nicola Sturgeon legs photograph to promote a single. It was invented.
