Chloe Madeley on television
Scott said he had noticed Chloe Madeley, the daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, presenting on television that morning.
He thought she came across well and seemed likeable. The team discussed the difficulty of entering broadcasting when viewers already knew somebody through famous parents.
Beccy’s delivered diet
Beccy had started receiving portion-controlled meals delivered in a large polystyrene box.
Scott examined the packaging and the small portions, including a piece of chicken. He joked that listeners were offering to undercut the company by wrapping food in cling film and delivering it directly to his house.
Beccy insisted that the food was properly planned rather than simply being leftovers in plastic. The team debated whether she would stick to the diet and whether delivered meals made discipline easier.
The Honesty Game
In The Honesty Game, the studio lights were lowered to create a supposed “safe zone”. Scott, Beccy, Chappers and the production team then had to answer personal listener questions honestly, with the understanding that the answers should not be used against them afterwards.
One listener asked Chappers whether Derby County should continue selecting Robbie Savage. The question forced him to balance his football judgement with his personal opinion of the player.
Other questions concerned attraction, relationships and the team’s habits away from the programme. Scott repeatedly reminded everybody that the purpose was to answer directly rather than evade the question.
The feature exposed disagreements within the team and encouraged them to challenge answers they believed were incomplete or strategically phrased.
