The ice-cream machine
Scott was shown how to operate a Mr Whippy-style dispenser.
He was told to pull the handle, rotate the cone twice and raise it, but the ice cream immediately ran over his hand and halfway down his arm.
The result clearly did not resemble a professional cone.
The penny machine
Scott then tried a seaside penny-pusher.
His guide debated whether he should slide or jam each coin into the slot and tried to build suspense around five attempts.
Although several coins moved close to the edge, Scott’s final penny missed completely and he won nothing.
