Is eating alone acceptable?

Beccy revealed that she had gone out for dinner by herself.

Scott initially treated the decision as unusually bleak, imagining her sitting alone while other tables watched. Beccy said she had wanted food and saw no reason to miss out simply because nobody else was available.
