Candice chooses a Banger
Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown looks back on watching the final with the other bakers, friends and family. She remains proud of the three-tiered pavlova, pig-shaped sausage rolls and elaborate gingerbread pub that included relatives behind the bar.
Candice then judges Bangers, choosing Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape” over DJ Snake’s “Turn Down for What”. The baking link helps Scott reclaim a song he believed was unfairly rejected the first time.
Joanne meets the other Bob fans
Joanne Froggatt discusses A Street Cat Named Bob after Scott and Chris attend a preview. She plays Val, the counsellor whose support and tough love help busker James recover while his bond with the ginger cat changes his life.
Scott admits the friendship created a small “water situation” in his eye. Joanne is pleased that a story with serious subject matter also retains warmth and humour, while Chris accepts that Scott’s unpromising one-sentence description did not capture the film.
Bryan delivers the message
Bryan Cranston recalls being an 18-year-old security guard and asking Alfred Hitchcock whether he enjoyed an event, only to receive a dismissive “What?” He also explains the small Breaking Bad logo tattoo inside his ring finger, hidden when his hand is closed and intended only for him.
Finally, he enters Heisenberg mode to read Little Mix’s “Shout Out to My Ex”. The growling delivery turns a pop lyric into a warning worthy of Walter White, leaving Scott thrilled and Cranston amused by the unexpected seriousness of the words.
