30 June 2025: Sara Cox sits in with Alice Levine

Sara Cox takes over

Sara Cox sat in for Scott after Glastonbury weekend.

She opened with listener stories from people returning home, still travelling or trying to function at work after several days at the festival.

Sara replaced the Good Morning Minute with Totally Devoted, her feature built around listeners explaining the person, thing or routine they were completely committed to.

The Easiest Quiz

James became Monday’s contestant and attempted to set the first score of the week.

Sara admitted that she only roughly remembered how the quiz worked, while the quiz itself remained fully prepared to enforce every rule.

The contrast between Sara’s relaxed encouragement and the judges’ strictness became the centre of the section.

Alice Levine

Alice Levine joined Sara to discuss broadcasting, podcasts and the experience of returning from Glastonbury.

The conversation covered festival work and the difference between attending as a fan and trying to create programmes in a loud, crowded environment.

Alice reflected on radio, documentary audio and the intimacy of podcasts, where listeners often felt they knew presenters personally.

Sara asked about the projects that had taken Alice into unusual communities and private stories.

They also traded memories of shared radio years and the practical chaos of live outside broadcasts.

Alice remained in the programme across several links, making the interview feel like a catch-up between colleagues rather than a formal guest slot.

The Birthday Game

Sara presented the Birthday Game after 9am, explaining the rules in her own way before the contestant chose from three former number-one records.

The handover completed a programme shaped by Glastonbury recovery, Alice Levine and Sara’s return to the breakfast studio.
